For those new to the region of Nelson or New Zealand, Nelson is a wonderful sunny vibrant place nestled in the top of the South Island of New Zealand. Many of our artists making their home here are second generation artisans, following in the tradition of their family.

 

Apart from our wonderful sunny weather, Nelson provides a bounty of inspiration for artists. Clear days for painting and our adventurous landscape, provided through various national parks, such as the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, provides creative stimulus right on our doorstep. 

 

Our artistic community is diverse with artists who are renowned New Zealand painters, contemporary jewellers and furniture makers, sculptors, photographers, fashion designers, film-makers and performing artists.

 

Apart from our wonderful art and artists, Nelson is also renown for its pinot noirwines, and fantastic fresh produce with the largest fishing port in New Zealand and apple & fruit orchards aplenty.

 

The inception of this website has given a greater profile to many Nelson artists of talent. We encourage you to view these works of art and, wherever you are in the world, to add some Nelson inspiration your own private collection - or for some lucky ones, purchase a unique gift!
