I am a contemporary artist working in oils and experimenting with a variety of mixed media looking at texture form and colour using a multitude of layers of metal paint and patina oxidization to achieve the final look. Gold and silver leaf also feature with dribbles of patina. I have moved away from horses and revisited fish and included birds into my current work as well as a little abstract.
This year I have started recycling furniture and other materials into one off art pieces which I see as an extension of painting in the 2D. I am also the artist of a large mosaic project for the Nelson City Council which involved designing and mosaicing a toilet block in a local community park.
Work is availble through the following outlets Refinery Gallery Nelson, Cool Store Gallery Mapua, Gillan Gallery Blenheim, Jane's Gallery New Plymouth and Lush Design Galley Auckland.
Enquires are welcome and viewing can be made by appointment at my Nelson home studio.
